The Human Rights Center, in partnership with International Organization for Human Rights (IPHR) and with financial support of the European Union, launched the project “Supporting Civil Society Action to Promote the Rule of Law for All in Tajikistan.”
This initiative aims to strengthen the role of civil
society in promoting fair justice, democratic governance, and the
principles of the rule of law. The project will use a unified
monitoring methodology to enable civil society to independently monitor justice
sector reforms, develop structured and constructive dialogue with government
agencies, and advocate for human rights-based change, including the
implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy until 2038.
The project will establish and support a nationwide, informal monitoring network comprising civil society organizations and activists working in justice system reform and access to justice. Participants will receive training, mentoring, and methodological support for monitoring.
The project will also support legal literacy, the development of ethical reporting on justice issues, and the creation of accessible content for a wide audience by training and engaging independent journalists, public and private media outlets, and bloggers.
Implementation of this project will contribute to increased
transparency and inclusiveness of criminal justice reforms, strengthening the
protection of human rights, and aligning institutional frameworks.
